Forsman's matcha is imported directly from Japanese farmers. Matcha gets its characteristic color, taste, and aroma thanks to the production process. The matcha leaves are shaded from sunlight for about three weeks before harvest. Thanks to the shading, the composition of the tea leaves changes, and the amino acid L-theanine as well as chlorophyll, contents are enhanced. Matcha also contains catechins and caffeine.
Matcha is traditionally prepared in a matcha bowl using a bamboo whisk. The whisk is an essential tool, as it breaks up the lumps that easily form in the matcha and gives the finished tea its beautiful, characteristic foam. Take a look at our video to see how matcha is prepared!
