A patriotic tea opus made to honour Jean Sibelius's masterpiece.
The Finlandia-hymn was being sung at the independence day's concert, when our master tea blender got an idea for a tea that would idolize the Finnish identity. Bringing the idea to reality gave him a lot of trouble, because the tea had to reprecent both the Finnish mentality and flavours of nature. After countless hours of experimentation, he finally found the perfect combination which made Sibelius himself smile down from the heavens.
The base tea for Finlandia is Tarry Lapsang Souchong - black tea, that's been smoked over sappy spruce roots. It gives the tea a tarry, smoky flavour. Cornflowers lighten the heavy flavour of Lapsang by bringing the vision of the Finnish meadow to the party. At last, lemon was added for tartness and to bind the other two together. Like the bog, paddock and Jussi, these flavours are inseparable from the Finnish psyche.
Smoked black tea, Cornflower petals, Natural lemon flavoring.
