Anxi's small tea plantation is located in Hunan, China, along the Xiangjiang River, surrounded by mountains. Anx's own Sencha is grown in the shade. Shade cultivation forces the tea plant to push more nutrients into its leaves, making this kind of tea tastier and healthier.
Sencha is a traditional green tea developed in Japan. It quickly moved to China, where its own upbringing style was developed. After picking, it is hand-rolled into needle-like shapes and steamed. Steaming stops the oxidation of the tea and produces a beautiful green color. Sencha is the world's most popular green tea. 80% of all green tea produced in Japan and 40% produced in China is precisely sencha.
On the palate, Anxi Tea Garden Sencha is sweet and grassy. The mouthfeel is dry and chewy.
